How it works, in 4 steps
Any of these sound familiar?
Printing on my card, table fee on yours...
Our helpers shouldn't have to pay
Sort out costs before splitting sales
→ Settle your shared booth expenses on your phone.
Log printing, table fees, hotel, travel and snacks. FAMI-KAN calculates everyone's share and who pays whom. Split it between co-organizers, and set helpers and contributors to zero — they still get back what they paid. No sign up, completely free.
Don't let tedious money calculations ruin a great memory.
I paid for printing, my co-organizer booked the table and hotel, a helper covered the train and snacks... who owes whom?
Enter everyone's expenses and FAMI-KAN settles them in the fewest transfers. Three or more people, netted instantly.
We two organizers want to cover the costs. Our helpers and contributors shouldn't pay anything.
Set their ratio to 0. Their share becomes zero, and anything they paid for, like travel or snacks, comes back to them in full. You can also weight the organizers differently (say 1.0 and 0.7) or put the hotel only on those who stayed over.
What about splitting the sales?
FAMI-KAN handles the expenses. Once everyone's share of the costs is settled, the talk about sales gets a lot simpler.
FAMI-KAN needs no sign-up and no install. Set a ratio once — Adult 1.0, Child 0.5 — and it applies to every expense after that. We compare it with other apps, including where they do better.
Why FAMI-KAN is Best
Between co-organizers, the easiest split to agree on follows each person's stake in the table: an even 1.0 and 1.0 if you share the work and the sales equally, or something like 1.0 and 0.7 if one of you is bringing more of the books or taking a bigger cut. Helpers and contributors can be set to 0, so they pay nothing toward the costs but still get back anything they covered. Say Kai paid $900 for printing, Rin paid the $300 table fee and the $240 hotel, and their helper Max covered $90 in train tickets and $30 in snacks. The costs come to $1,560, split evenly between Kai and Rin at $780 each, with Max at 0. Kai is owed $120, Max is owed $120, and Rin sends each of them $120. In FAMI-KAN, add the co-organizers and helpers, set the helpers' ratio to 0, and have everyone log their receipts from the shared link. Anything only some of you share, such as printing for one person's own title, can be limited with "Target Members". Once the costs are settled, the conversation about splitting the sales starts from a clean slate.

The worst part of any trip comes at the very end — when everyone's tired and someone has to sort out the money. Lining up receipts, punching numbers into a calculator, trying to remember who paid what... it brings a cold, transactional feeling to what should be warm memories.
Existing apps are useful, but often too complex or require everyone to install the same app. For family gatherings spanning multiple generations, we needed something simpler — and warmer.

Frequently Asked Questions
If you share the work and the sales equally, 50/50 is the simplest. If one of you contributes more titles or takes a larger share of sales, a ratio such as 1.0 and 0.7 can reflect that. Try a few ratios and compare the amounts before you settle.
Enter each person's printing with only that person under "Target Members", and split the table fee and travel between all the co-organizers. If someone else paid the print shop, the settlement credits them for it.
That's your call. If you'd like to cover it, log the ticket as a payment by the helper and keep the helper at 0. The full amount is paid back to them in the settlement.
Log it with the date it was paid. The History tab can be sorted by date or category, so early payments and on-the-day costs sit in one place.
Duplicate the last event from the history on the home page. The co-organizers, helpers, ratios and currency carry over, and the expenses start empty.

No. It runs entirely in your web browser. Just share the link and everyone can access it immediately on their phones.

Yes. You can switch between three views — "Settlement", "By Member" and "By Item". You can see what each person paid and owes, and for any single expense, who is covering how much. Everyone sees why the number is what it is, on the same screen.
