Any of these sound familiar?

The organizer paid the venue and food
Someone else bought the teacher's gift
Should non-drinkers pay the same?

→ Settle reunion costs on your phone.
Log the venue, food, gifts and after-party. Set ratios, a teacher at 0 and non-drinkers at 0.7, and FAMI-KAN calculates who owes whom. Collect money first and settle any surplus or shortfall too. No sign up, completely free.

Don't let tedious money calculations ruin a great memory.

Q.

The organizer paid the venue and food, Ben bought the teacher's gift, Sam paid the after-party... who owes whom?

A.

Enter everyone's payments and FAMI-KAN settles them in the fewest transfers.

Q.

We want to cover our teacher and charge non-drinkers less.

A.

Set the teacher's ratio to 0 and non-drinkers to 0.7. Adjust it to however your group decides.

Q.

We want to collect money first.

A.

Record the money collected with Give to Organizer, and FAMI-KAN settles the difference from what was actually spent.

FAMI-KAN needs no sign-up and no install. Set a ratio once — Adult 1.0, Child 0.5 — and it applies to every expense after that. We compare it with other apps, including where they do better.

Why FAMI-KAN is Best

How much a class reunion costs per person is the total divided by everyone's shares, so the real decisions are what to include (the venue, food, a gift for a teacher, maybe an after-party) and who pays a reduced share. If you invite a former teacher as your guest, setting their ratio to 0 spreads their share across the class. Say 30 classmates who drink and 10 who don't attend, along with one teacher. The venue and food come to $2,500, and the teacher's gift is $90, for $2,590 in total. With drinkers at 1.0, non-drinkers at 0.7 and the teacher at 0, the total ratio is 37.0, so drinkers pay $70 and non-drinkers $49. The after-party is a separate payment, shared only by the people who went. Reunion money gets messy because the organizer pays the venue deposit long before anyone has paid them, and people sign up, cancel and pay at different times. In FAMI-KAN, collect money up front with "Give to Organizer", log every cost as it's paid, and the settlement works out the surplus or shortfall from what was actually spent.

Why we built FAMI-KAN

FAMI-KAN isn't just a calculator. It's a partner that handles the math so you can focus on what matters: "That dinner was amazing", "Where should we go next?" — preserving the afterglow of time well spent together.

The worst part of any trip comes at the very end — when everyone's tired and someone has to sort out the money. Lining up receipts, punching numbers into a calculator, trying to remember who paid what... it brings a cold, transactional feeling to what should be warm memories.

Existing apps are useful, but often too complex or require everyone to install the same app. For family gatherings spanning multiple generations, we needed something simpler — and warmer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Estimate the total and divide by the expected shares. If you expect $2,590 and 30 drinkers at 1.0 and 10 non-drinkers at 0.7 (37.0 in all), that's $70 and $49. Collect those amounts with "Give to Organizer", and the settlement returns or collects the difference once the real costs are in.

If you're inviting them as your guest, set them to 0 and the class shares their part. If they'd like to contribute, give them a ratio of 1.0 or use "Change shares for this payment only" to set a fixed amount.

One way is to register the couple as one member with two people in it, so their share is 2.0, or 1.7 if the spouse doesn't drink. The settlement then shows one transfer for the couple.

Untick them under "Target Members" on the reunion costs. What they gave the organizer is treated as their advance, so the settlement shows a refund from the organizer to them.

Enter the after-party as its own payment with only those who went under "Target Members". The drinker and non-drinker ratios still apply among them.

Give each payment a category and memo, such as "Venue deposit" or "Gift for Ms. Lee", and share the link. Once everyone is settled, lock the event so the record stays as it is.

Yes. You can switch between three views — "Settlement", "By Member" and "By Item". You can see what each person paid and owes, and for any single expense, who is covering how much. Everyone sees why the number is what it is, on the same screen.
