Split expenses without a spreadsheet: no app to install, no sign up
No install, no sign-up. 100% free.
For example, a weekend trip you'd have tracked in a spreadsheet
4 friends: 3 who drink, 1 who doesn't. Lodging, groceries and gas were paid by different people.

FAMI-KAN needs no sign-up and no install. Set a ratio once — Adult 1.0, Child 0.5 — and it applies to every expense after that. We compare it with other apps, including where they do better.
Why FAMI-KAN is Best
You can split shared expenses without a spreadsheet by using a tool that does the formulas for you. FAMI-KAN runs in the browser, so there's nothing to install and no account to create, and it handles the parts that tend to break a sheet: ratios, expenses only some people share, and working out who pays whom. A spreadsheet is good at adding things up, but the last step is the hard one. Say four friends spend $640: Alex paid $250, Ben $190, Chris $160 and Dana $40. A sheet will tell you each share is $160. It won't tell you on its own that Dana should send Alex $90 and Ben $30, and that Chris is already even. Add a kid at half price or a dinner only three people went to, and the formulas get fragile fast. In FAMI-KAN, you share one link and everyone enters what they paid from their own phone. Ratios, "Target Members" for partial expenses, rounding to any unit and the fewest transfers are all built in. When you're done, record payments under "Settled payments" and lock the event. An internet connection is required.
Simple 3-Step Guide
No app downloads or accounts needed.

Create an event
Name it and choose the currency. There's nothing to install and no sign-up.
- 2
Add people and ratios
Add everyone who shares the costs, and set ratios such as Adult 1.0 and Kid 0.5 if needed.
- 3
Share the link
Send it to the group so everyone enters what they paid from their own phone.
- 4
Read the settlement
The Settle tab shows who pays whom in the fewest transfers, already rounded to your chosen unit.
Why we built FAMI-KAN
FAMI-KAN isn't just a calculator. It's a partner that handles the math so you can focus on what matters: "That dinner was amazing", "Where should we go next?" — preserving the afterglow of time well spent together.

The worst part of any trip comes at the very end — when everyone's tired and someone has to sort out the money. Lining up receipts, punching numbers into a calculator, trying to remember who paid what... it brings a cold, transactional feeling to what should be warm memories.
Existing apps are useful, but often too complex or require everyone to install the same app. For family gatherings spanning multiple generations, we needed something simpler — and warmer.

It compares what each person paid with their share and finds the fewest transfers that even things out. If Alex paid $250, Ben $190, Chris $160 and Dana $40 on a $640 even split, Dana sends Alex $90 and Ben $30, and Chris is already square.
