Why FAMI-KAN is Best
Charging juniors and the team manager less makes sense when they don't get the same out of the trip: a junior player on a smaller budget, or a manager who's there to run things rather than play. A ratio turns that into numbers, for example players 1.0, juniors 0.5 and the team manager 0.5, or 0 if the team wants to cover the manager completely. Say 6 players, 3 juniors and 1 manager share $1,600 for the hotel, the van rental and gas. The total ratio is 8.0, so each player pays $200, each junior $100 and the manager $100. Entry fees are a different case: they're charged per player, so the manager shouldn't be part of them at all. Team trips get messy because the captain books the hotel, someone else rents the van, and a third person pays the entry fees. In FAMI-KAN, set the roles as categories, have everyone log what they paid from the shared link, and untick the manager on the entry fees. The settlement shows the fewest transfers needed, so the captain isn't left covering the gap.

Frequently Asked Questions
A ratio of 0.5 is an easy starting point. With 6 players at 1.0, 3 juniors at 0.5 and a manager at 0.5 sharing $1,600, a junior pays $100 and a player $200. You can try 0.6 or 0.7 and compare before you settle.
That's a team decision. Setting them to 0 covers them fully as a thank-you, while 0.5 asks for a partial share. Either way, their share is spread across the others by ratio.
On the entry fees, untick non-players under "Target Members". For the hotel, use "Change shares for this payment only" to split it by room, then let the role ratios handle everything else.
Untick them on the first night's hotel and any meals they missed. They're included only in the expenses from when they arrived.
Once they've sent the money, record it under "Settled payments". It's deducted from what they owe, and only the remaining balance stays in the settlement.
Duplicate the last trip from the history on the home page. The roster, role categories and currency carry over, and the expenses start empty.
