Why FAMI-KAN is Best
Non-drinkers don't have to pay the same as the people ordering round after round, but they did take a seat at the table and eat, so a fair split separates the beer from everything else. Say 10 friends book a table for $300, order $240 in food and drink $480 of beer, and 2 of them stick to soda. The table and food ($540) are split ten ways, $54 each. The beer is split among the 8 drinkers, $60 each. Drinkers pay $114 and non-drinkers $54. If some drink much more than others, you can go a step further and give lighter drinkers 0.5 on the beer. Festival tabs get messy because the table was booked months ago, rounds are paid by whoever is closest to the server, and people drift in and out all day. In FAMI-KAN, log the reservation with its original date, enter each round as it's paid, and untick the non-drinkers under "Target Members" on the beer. The settlement adds it all up into the fewest transfers, ideally before anyone forgets who paid for what.

Frequently Asked Questions
Use "Change shares for this payment only" on the beer to give heavier drinkers 1.0 and lighter ones 0.5. With 4 of each on a $480 tab, the total ratio is 6.0, so heavier drinkers pay $80 and lighter drinkers $40.
The table holds a seat for everyone, so an even split of the reservation is easy to defend. If your reservation included food or drinks, you might split that part the way you split food and drinks.
On that round, use "Change shares for this payment only" to set a fixed amount for what they ordered. The rest of the round is split among everyone else.
Enter each round with a short memo, such as "Round 3, pitchers", as soon as you can. FAMI-KAN needs an internet connection, so if signal is weak in the tent, enter them when you step outside.
Log it as a payment by them with only the riders under "Target Members". Everyone else isn't charged for it.
