Why FAMI-KAN is Best
Whether a guest pays less than members mostly comes down to who invited them. If the group invited a guest, covering part of their share is a friendly gesture; if they asked to tag along, a full share is reasonable. A ratio such as members 1.0 and guests 0.5 handles the first case without anyone having to bring it up at the table. Say 6 members and 2 guests share $280 for lunch and drinks at the clubhouse. With guests at 0.5, the total ratio is 7.0, so members pay $40 and guests $20. Green fees can work differently: if the course charges guests a different rate, give each guest a fixed amount on that payment instead of a ratio. Golf outings get complicated because one person books and pays for all the tee times, carts are paid per cart, and the 19th hole goes on whoever's card is closest. In FAMI-KAN, log each of these under whoever paid, set member and guest categories once, and use "Target Members" for anything only some players shared. The settlement shows who pays whom before everyone heads to the parking lot.

Frequently Asked Questions
If the guest was invited, setting them to 0 on the green fee payment is a simple way to treat them. Their share is split among the members by ratio, and the guest still pays their part of lunch if you like.
Use "Change shares for this payment only" and give each guest a fixed amount at their rate. On a $720 booking for 8 players with 2 guests at $120 each, the remaining $480 is split among the 6 members, $80 each.
That's up to your group. A guest ratio of 0.5 on the clubhouse bill is one option; with 6 members and 2 guests on a $280 tab, members pay $40 and guests $20. Or keep everyone at 1.0 for food and treat the guest only on the round.
Enter each cart as its own payment and leave only its two riders under "Target Members". Players who walked aren't charged for a cart.
Untick the players who left under "Target Members" on the clubhouse tab. The member and guest ratios still apply among those who stayed.
